Ajman records Dh2.91 billion in rental contracts in first half of 2026
Ajman registered rental contracts valued at approximately Dh2.91 billion during the first six months of 2026, with 73,472 agreements recorded through the emirate's official Tasdeeq registration system, according to the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department.
The rental activity formed part of a broader real estate market surge that saw total property transactions reach Dh10.8 billion across 6,815 deals during the same period, including 5,435 sales transactions worth Dh7.64 billion.
Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, said the figures demonstrate the emirate's position as an integrated destination supported by flexible legislation, advanced infrastructure and smart services that facilitate customer journeys and enhance quality of life.
The results clearly demonstrate growing confidence in Ajman and reflect the success of integrated efforts to provide a supportive and enabling environment for individuals and business owners, meeting their aspirations and keeping pace with the emirate's continued growth across sectors that contribute to sustainable economic development.
Market performance exceeds historical trends
The H1 2026 rental contract value represents nearly half of the full-year 2025 total, which reached Dh6.625 billion across all lease categories. In 2025, residential contracts exceeded Dh3.320 billion, commercial agreements totaled Dh2.423 billion, and investment contracts amounted to Dh881 million.
Ajman's rental market outperformed neighboring emirates during the period, with certain areas recording price increases of up to 57% in the second quarter, while many communities in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah experienced rental declines. Average apartment rents in Ajman stood at approximately Dh37,252 annually, showing a 2% increase over the six-month period.
Yousef Mohammed Al Sheiba Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Rental Regulation Sector, said the indicators confirm continued activity in rental contracts and sustained demand for housing and investment. He emphasized the department's commitment to developing the rental regulation ecosystem through the latest smart technologies and advanced systems.
Geographic and economic drivers
The smallest emirate by area at approximately 260 square kilometers, Ajman ranks as the UAE's fourth most populous emirate. Its location 30-40 minutes from Dubai International Airport via Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road positions it within the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan corridor of over 6 million residents.
Investor interest remains strong due to rental yields ranging between 7-10% annually, among the highest in the UAE, with property prices starting from competitive levels that attract both local and international buyers.
Emirates City emerged as the most actively traded development during H1 2026, followed by City Towers and Ajman One, while Al Helio 2 recorded the highest transaction volumes among individual neighborhoods. All rental agreements must be registered through the Tasdeeq system managed by the municipality, which authenticates tenancy contracts and enables residents to access essential services.
